Laid-back Lakewood sprawls along the west shore of White Rock Lake, which is surrounded by hiking and biking trails, boathouses, wildflower areas, and picnic spots. On the east shore, Dallas Arboretum has themed botanical gardens, sculpture exhibitions, and frequent concerts. Classic movies and comedy shows are among the attractions at the Lakewood Theater, an iconic art deco movie palace from the 1930s.
